- Stephen has been an instructor for "Certified Apartment Manager" classes on the legal aspects of apartment management. As well, he has a license to practice law in Texas, though currently inactive.

In 2002, Stephen established the law firm of Stephen P. Weir, P.A., and is practicing law in the same areas of law as he developed with over 27 years of experience as a partner, associate and law clerk in the following law firms. |
1981 to 2002Stephen started his legal career as a law clerk in the law firm of Hiatt & Carpenter, Chtd. in 1981. After graduation from law school in 1983 and following a one-year internship with Judge Abbott on the Court of Appeals, he returned to the Hiatt & Carpenter law firm and stayed with it as an associate and then as a partner through that firm's many name and personnel changes. |
1983 to 1984Following graduation from law school in 1983, Stephen took a position on the Kansas Court of Appeals as Research attorney for Judge Bob Abbott. This one year position was available each year to only seven young attorneys through the state. Primary duties included researching legal theories, case law, statutes, and regulations and preparing memorandums to assist Judge Abbott in ruling on appellate cases. |
